Filipino boxing champion Jerwin Ancajas made his quarantine a well-spent one after successfully becoming a Navy reservist.

The IBF super-flyweight champ passed his recent exam that gave him the Certificate of Acceptance as an honorary member of the Special Operations Group.

Serving the country will not be removed when the name Jerwin Ancajas is called, whether it is inside the ring or roaming at the sea territories.

The Philippine Navy added another boxing icon under their wings as Onyok Velasco and his brother Roel were once part of the proud Navy. Onyok brought glory to the country by bringing home the silver medal during the 1996 Olympics.

Joining the Navy is also a good move in the part of Ancajas as he aim to keep in shape while waiting for his next fight in the US.
