A Filipino boxer tested positive with the novel coronavirus that halted his bout in the American soil.

John Vincent Moralde, a native from General Santos City was forced not to fight after getting the result while inside the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The news first broke out from the Manila Times.

Moralde felt that it was just an overreaction since he is feeling okay but he respected the decision and is now undergoing a 14-day quarantine with his hope to test negative after.

He was supposed to fight Alexis del Bosque, a Mexican boxer.

Moralde is the first Filipino boxer to test positive with the pandemic disease.

However, the Pinoy boxer remains hopeful that he can fight again by August.
