The clash between WBO super-middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders and boxing’s pound-for-pound king Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez could be postponed even before the official fight announcement could be released.

Due to the outbreak of covid-19 also known as the novel coronavirus, almost all sporting events has already been cancelled and suspended, and boxing is not an exemption.

“We’re taking it one day at a time. We’re talking to the commission in Nevada, we’re talking to the MGM [Arena], state officials,” said Eric Gomez of the Golden Boy Promotions to an interview with ESPN.

The pandemic virus has been taking seriously around the globe as cases are rapidly increasing.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) a person infected can spread the virus up to a thousand people. No wonder why all mass gathering and big sporting events are pushed back.
