Few games back it was LeBron James offense and Anthony Davis defense that saved the Los Angeles Lakers, this time it was the other way around.

Davis calmly stroked down four crucial free throws before James intercepted a full-court inbound pass with 2.7 seconds left to escape the Oklahoma City Thunder, 130-127.

The all-star duo put a double-double performance each with Davis leading the scoring with 33 points along with his 11 rebounds, and seven assists. Meanwhile, James anchored the offense with his game-high 14 assists with 23 points and six rebounds.

Oklahoma was leading by a precarious one-point lead in the first half, 67-66 before Los Angeles waxed hot to start the third frame firing four three-pointers and successive inside buckets to banner their biggest lead of 15.

However,  the Thunder was quick to put out the fire and immediately crawled back into the game following multiple treys  to cut the deficit to three, 103-106.

Both squads evened the scoring in the fourth quarter, scoring 24 points apiece but it was the visiting team who stood out at the final buzzer.

Four more Lakers players reached in double-figures as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 17 points, Danny Green chipped 14, Kyle Kuzma and Dwight Howard added 10 markers apiece.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led OKC with his 24-point outing as well as Steven Adams who had 22 points, all in a losing effort.

With the defeat the Thunder has now a 5-10 win-loss record while the Lakers continue to pile the wins with its 13-2 card, currently the best in the NBA.
