GiannisAntetokounmpo added another trophy to his growing collections as he was named the NBA MVP for season 2019-2020.
The Milwaukee Bucks superstar continued his reign as the league’s top player by winning the awards for two consecutive years.
Despite an early second-round playoff exit in the current NBA bubble, Giannis was a force of nature during the regular season in which the award was based.
The award was reacted by the fans as some thought LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers deserved the award. However, again, the MVP award is based on the regular season performance of the players.
The 25 years old Greek averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists while leading his team to the best record in the NBA.
He also joined an elite company of players who won back-to-back NBA MVP awards, the likes of James, Stephen Curry, Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, Michael Jordan and more.
Achievement wise, Antetokounmpo was fully accomplished this year as he was an All-Star, first All-NBA team, Defensive Player of the Year and the Most Valuable Player.
Frustrating as it is not to deliver a championship, the reigning MVP remained poised as he shifted focus on getting better in the offseason.
The future is bright for the ‘Greek Freak.’
