Japanese sensation Naoya Inoue will have to wait a little longer than expected for his anticipated US boxing debut as Top Rank Promotions suspended its March and April events due to the pandemic coronavirus.
The ‘Monster’ Inoue is set to face the Filipino bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero this April 25 in Las Vegas before it was called off.
Inoue is currently at the top three for the pound-for-pound ahead of welterweight champion Terrence ‘Bud’ Crawford.
Casimero meanwhile will also have more time to prepare while keeping himself protected from the virus.
Experts said that the fight will be Casimero’s biggest test despite stunning the former champion Zolane Tete with a technical knockout victory.
