Recently winning and becoming a four-division world champion, Leo Santa Cruz is not yet done on proving himself. As early as this state of 2020, Santa Cruz already set his mind on fighting Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis at the Super Featherweight division.
Despite his ugly performance over Miguel Flores on the last bell, Sta. Cruz expressed his intention to fight Davis who previously owned the WBA Super Featherweight belt.
However, Tank Davis also had his off-night against Yuriokis Gamboa on his first
fight at the lightweight division.
Nonetheless, if the two were to fight it will be at 130, Davis’ former division.
Many are doubting Santa Cruz because he displayed little to none power on his first fight at 130 against Flores. He didn’t even make Flores hit the canvass and it took him 12 rounds in which he won unanimously.
Meanwhile, Davis was a monster in the super featherweight and told the news he will only move back to 130 if it is a big fight. In paper and reality, it is a big fight for Davis, but is Santa Cruz big enough to lure the 23-0-22 Davis in the ring?
Tank Davis is currently 25 years old, six years younger to Santa Cruz who has a boxing record of 37 wins including 19 knockouts, one defeat, one draw.
In power, Davis is clearly ahead with his 22 KOs in 23 victories but Santa Cruz is a veteran who can make the fight very interesting.
However, Davis camp has yet to voice out about the calling out of Santa Cruz.
