players showed their support towards ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski through online by the tag #FreeWoj after the viral response on Missouri Senator Josh Hawley’s open letter to the NBA.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was one of the players who joined the call.
The cause of the f-word response from Wojnarowski was the letter of Hawley criticizing the NBA regarding its relationship to China and the statement players will put on the back of their jersey when the season resumes in Orlando.
ESPN suspended the insider also known for his Woj-bomb, but was put back to duty afterwards.
Wojnarowski went to apologize for his action on Twitter.
“I was disrespectful and I made a regrettable mistake,” Wojnarowski wrote. “I’m sorry for the way I handled myself and I am reaching out immediately to Senator Hawley to apologize directly,” he wrote.
“I also need to apologize to my ESPN colleagues because I know my actions were unacceptable and should not reflect on any of them.”
