LOS ANGELES — Though looking at his rejuvenated spiritual outlook, he wouldn’t literally bet on young champ Errol Spence, but Manny Pacquiao is placing his favor on the fighter everyone is eyeing to be his next foe.
The fighting Senator from the Philippines has his money on Spence but contrary to what Vegas betting odds predict, the fight will be a closer shave than advertised.
“I think it’ll be a close fight, but Spence will win,” said Pacquiao in a separate interview, saying that WBC champ Shawn Porter and IBF titlist Spence won’t disappoint inside the squared circle.
“It’s not going to be a one-sided fight, but it’s going to be a really good fight. So the fans must watch this fight because it’s going to be a once in a lifetime fight,” he added.
The eight-division world champion also noted that he doesn’t mind who he’ll take on after whoever’s hand is raised after the fight.
“It’s a really good fight. I have no problems fighting the winner of Spence and Porter. And, I can fight anybody,” said Pacquiao.
Pacquiao only a few months back before his fight against Keith “One Time” Thurman, actually had the chance to fight the young American Spence (25-0, 21 KOs) but opted to fight and eventually beat Thurman in 12 rounds in Las Vegas a couple of months back.
Now we have to see, whatever the result may be on Sunday (Manila time) between Spence and Porter, who will Pacquiao take on next.
