A world champion from the World Boxing Council (WBC) was confirmed having the pandemic coronavirus said President Mauricio Sulaiman.
The patient was female champion Fabiana Bytyqi of Czech Republic. Limited details were released regarding the situation of the boxer.
“The President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaimán, and the entire Boxing Family, send their best wishes for the prompt and full recovery of Fabiana Bytyqi,” the WBC chiefs said.
Bytyqi was the first title-holder to get inflicted by the dealy disease which until now is in search for a cure.
She was the first female who won a major boxing title in Czech Republic and has been successful in two title defense.
