The dynamic duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis provided the offense and defense in the clutch to squeak out the Sacramento Kings, 99-97, inside the entertained Staples Center in LA.

James proved to be steady at the charity stripe after nailing both free-throws with 5.5 seconds left to give the Lakers a two-point lead before Davis denied the layup attempt of Harrison Barnes to seal the deal for the home squad.

Los Angeles was able to shift the tempo in the third via Alex Caruso’s trey for a seven-point advantage but the Luke Walton squad, former head coach of the Lakers, inched closer to end the third with a Yogi Ferrell triple, 71-74.

James entered the pivotal frame aggressive after scoring seven early points but Buddy Hield stayed hot from the outside to keep the Kings in distant.

Bogdan Bogdanovic, meanwhile, sprouted for a personal seven-straight to tie the game at 97 with 22.1 seconds left, however, James was fouled by Barnes sending him to the line giving the Lakers the lead.
