Mike Tyson is looking far ahead of his boxing return. He refused to shut down the possibility of fighting either of the current heavyweight champions, the unified titleholder Anthony and WBC champ Tyson Fury.
The anticipated comeback of the ‘worst man on the planet’ will finally be overcome 28th of November as he is scheduled to fight fellow returnee Roy Jones Jr., for an exhibition match.
Tyson made a very inspiring body transformation that gained much respect around the globe; however, people are not expecting him to fight professionally once again.
“Me using my skills, matching my skills now against the best heavyweights in the world, that would be mind-boggling,” he said in an interview.
If he succeeds in defeating Jones Jr., the Fury fight will automatically rise as ESPN reportedly offered Fury before to fight his idol, Tyson.
Tyson’s return will be an eight-rounder, and he emphasized that he is fully prepared for it.
“Old guys, that word doesn’t even make sense. Old? It is just a new time, a new thinking period in our lives.
“This is what we want to do. Sometimes the gods of war revive you and say, ‘You have to do more.’
“Now I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t prepare for this. You know, I box people to see if I’m able to do this stuff so that I can do this stuff.
“[My skills are] good enough for this. Good enough to go eight rounds. I’m exerting myself, and this is going to be pretty interesting,’ he said in an article released by givemesport.com.
His performance in this fight will be the barometer if he could continue the comeback story and fight at the highest level of boxing once again.
