Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert revealed that his sense of smell has yet to come back despite overcoming the coronavirus last March.

Gobert was one of the first players in the NBA who tested positive with the virus that later resulted to the suspension of the entire league.

“The taste has returned, but the smell is still not 100%,” the center from France said.

“I can smell the smells, but not from afar. I spoke to specialists, who told me that it could take up to a year,” he added.

With his condition, it is still unclear if he will be able to play for the Jazz when the season reopens. Jazz is a contender for the playoffs in the western conference.

His relationship with all-star teammate Donovan Mitchell is still questionable after Mitchell got infected by the virus as well due to Gobert’s action after knowing he tested positive.

Gobert already issued an apology for his action days after the incident.
