LAS VEGAS, Nevada — While there is no limit in the heavyweight division, both Deontay ‘Bronze Boomer’ Wilder and Tyson ‘Gypsy King’ Fury decided to go heavier on their much-awaited clash at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas come Saturday night.
The WBC heavyweight champ Wilder weighed in at 231 pounds while the lineal heavyweight champ Fury is at a massive 273 pounds.
Wilder, who is targeting his 11th successive title defense put 10.5 pounds more compared to when he fought Luis Ortiz last November. The 6’7” American also played the villain’s role during the weigh-in as he received boos from the crowd in attendance.
On the other hand, the 6’9” Gypsy King Fury added 27 pounds after his fight with Otto Wallin last September where he overcame a cut above his right eye to remain unbeaten.
